Viva la Revolution!
I'm so excited to reveal my latest embroidery piece: a family of Zapaista revolutionaries. In 1994, the Zapatistas of Chiapas, Mexico declared war against the state of Mexico. Currently they remain nonviolent but they maintain the awesome slogan: "Para todos todo, para nosotros nada" or in English: "For everyone, everything, for us, nothing"

Lainybird in The Motor City
I got to see Elaine! She's from the Bay Area and visiting Detroit this week. We went to a Tigers game and got so busy talking that I'm not sure which team won. Oh well, good to catch up. She's heading off to South America for 6 months and I'm so excited for her!

Cedar Point
This weekend we headed to Cedar Point in Ohio. We had a great time riding roller coasters, and we were super psyched to find a Chic-fil-A in the park! We love Chic-fil-A and have felt major with drawls since moving away from the south.

Mackinac Butterflies
I spent the weekend with my parents in Northern Michigan. We had a great time biking around Mackinac island. Here are some photos from the butterfly house:

Tattoo Man
I found this little guy at a Royal Oak shop, Bohemian Rhapsody and I had to take him home. He's a cute little circus freak and he ads a lot to my pillow collection. He is made by Spitfire Girl.
500 Days of Summer
Everyone has to go see this movie. It's adorable. I loved they way Zooey Deschanel was styled. Notice the peacock tea dress? And the cream silk vest? Apparently they used a lot of blue in the film to match her eyes. The soundtrack is great too. It features The Smiths, Regina Spektor, Carla Bruni, Feist, and Zooey herself.
