Lions Win!

I purchased Lion's tickets without knowing we would witness history today. The Lions actually won, breaking their 19 game losing streak! People in the crowds were freaking out. It felt like a Super Bowl win. Fans stormed the field and the team came back out to thank the fans. The team looked relieved to finally end in a win. Lion's head coach said, “I’d like it to get to a point where a regular-season win isn’t celebrated that much, the jubilation, it had the feel of a post-season win.”

Yates Cider Mill

It feels like fall here in Michigan. Today we went to an orchard and tasted delicious cider and fresh donuts. There was a lovely trail and we enjoyed some hiking.

DIY Fest

We had a great time at the DIY Fest in Ferndale, MI. There were a lot of great vendors and fantastic local beer.  I also scored this sweet Flight of the Conchords print from Silent Giants.

My Mac is Back

For the three years I've had my iMac, it has somehow survived 7 apartment changes to four different states, 2 Fedex shipping journeys, and a cross country flight in my boyfriend's checked luggage. (If I had chosen a laptop, life would be so much easier). It must have had enough because the hard drive failed on me this weekend. Thankfully, I had 22 days left on my warranty and the Apple Store fixed it. Booyeah.

Ms. Blank in the D.

Amanda Blank opened for Matt & Kim at the MagicStick in Detroit. It was the most rowdy show I've been to. She's going to blow up. I can feel it. Amanda showcased her "no pants necessary" attitude.

Awkward Family Photos

Website find of the week has to be Awkward Family Photos. Why did anyone ever think it was okay to wear matching outfits and to pose so ridiculously? These really want to make me pull out some of our family albums to see what I can find.

Anne & Bub Engagement Session

I headed to Madison, WI this weekend to photograph my good friends Anne & Bub before they embarked on their Indian adventure. We had a good time photographing a picnic in the meadow and dealing with a ridiculous amount of balloons.

The First State Fair

Michigan can proudly boast that their state was the first to have a state fair. Unfortunately, being the first is all MI has to be proud of. The fair is officially the worst fair in the union. Mike, Kevin, and I are still able to make the most of it though. Highlights include a giant cow made of butter and a gigantic wood stove.
